We marked our official opening at Rowanbrook Care Home with a joyful celebration on Thursday, 30th January.
We were joined by our residents, their families, and our friends from the local community. We were also delighted to welcome the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Louise Harrison. Louise led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and had high praise for our home’s warm and caring atmosphere.
She said “Rowanbrook is full of warmth and compassion. The success of today’s event shows the home’s dedication to giving residents dignity, respect, and support.”
Guests on the day took a tour of Rowanbrook, exploring our 54-bedroom home and enjoying a delicious buffet, freshly made by our in-house chef. Local violinist Debbie from BeatDrop UK treated us to a live performance too, which added a special musical touch to the day.
A highlight of the event was the opportunity it gave us to honour Simon Anderson, our first resident. Simon, who moved in last September, received a plaque recognising him as a ‘founding resident.’ Since joining us, Simon has seen a big improvement in his wellbeing. Living with frontal temporal dementia, he initially needed intensive support and communication was a challenge for him. We’re proud to say that today, Simon is enjoying life – he’s more independent and actively engaged in our day-to-day activities at Rowanbrook.

Care Home Manager Bo Micu shared his positive thoughts on Rowanbrook and the sense of community that’s been built here:
“We’re so proud of how far Rowanbrook has come. Our founding residents have shaped the heart of our home, and it’s wonderful to see them at the centre of today’s celebrations. We’ve built a supportive community with residents, families, and staff, all committed to compassionate, quality care.”
It’s been great to see our home in the press too! You can check out just some of the coverage for our official opening event from the Express and Star, Birmingham World and Care Home Magazine.
